Presentation by Peter Hanson Remnant Gold Mines Around Warrandyte
Peter, a member and past President of the Warrandyte Historical Society is our local expert on the gold mines of Warrandyte. Peter has spent a lifetime exploring and documenting the relics of old mines in the township. While many are now gated or fenced off to prevent public access, he has photographed many interiors and knows them well. Peter will be talking about the remnant gold mines around Warrandyte, focusing on what is still around and visible. This is a fascinating subject and if you are interested in the wonderful gold history of the town, this talk is not to be missed.
